Florida State brushed aside Hofstra in game one defeating the Pride 13-1 in the first of two games on Saturday.

Seminoles' second baseman Sherman Johnson played the starring role going 3-for-4 from the plate with a double and home run. Johnson registered six RBI on the day, a career high for RBI in a game. The six RBI mark the first time a Seminole has done so since Mike McGee last season against Wake Forest.

Stephen Cardullo enjoyed a 1-for-3 day with a two-run homer. With his hit, he extended his hitting streak to ten games dating back to last year.

Sean Gilmartin improved to 2-0 on the season going six complete innings, allowing five hits, one walk, and struck out seven hitters. Gilmartin only threw 73 pitches.

Geoff Parker and Hunter Scantling worked two scoreless innings in the seventh and eighth innings respectively. Scantling struck out three of the four batters he faced.

Tyler Everett finished off the visitors from New York in the ninth allowing one unearned run on one hit and struck out one.

The Seminoles and Pride will return to action for a seven inning game later in the day.
