Sixth-ranked Florida State (7-4, 1-1 ACC) fell to Boston College (9-3, 1-1 ACC) 14-6 Saturday evening marking the first time the Seminoles have fallen to the Eagles in school history. BC pounded out 16 hits, the most given up by FSU this year, to even the season series at a game a piece.

The Eagles did a bulk of their damage in the first three innings running out to a 12-4 lead. Boston College scored five runs in the first, five more in the second and two in the third and never looked back snapping a 10-game losing skid to the Seminoles. The Eagles' three through seven hitters went a combined 13-for-25 with 10 RBI, 11 runs, three doubles and two home runs. Catcher Tony Sanchez led the offensive attack going 4-for-6 and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. He finished with two doubles, a home run and a single.

"You have got to tip your hat, that is a good baseball team," said head coach Mike Martin.

Making his first start of the season at first base, sophomore Jack Posey drove in half the Seminole runs on Saturday night finishing the game with two hits and three RBI. Jason Stidham led all Seminole batters as the junior shortstop went 3-for-5 with three runs scored. For the second night in a row, Stephen Cardullo recorded a pair of hits, while Tyler Holt went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.

Boston College jumped out to an early lead in game two scoring five runs on six hits off Seminole starter Geoff Parker (1-1). For the second straight night, Robbie Anston led off the game with a hit lacing a double to left center. After a sacrifice bunt by Garret Smith moved Anston to third, Sanchez cleared the bases sneaking a 1-2 offering from Parker just inside the left field foul pole for his team leading fourth home run of the season. Mickey Wiswall followed with a solo shot to left, his third of the season, to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. The last time an opposing team went back-to-back against the Seminoles was Bucknell in the fifth inning of an elimination game in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

BC wasn't through stringing together three more hits in the first including an RBI double to left center off the bat of second baseman Brad Zapenas scoring Mike Belfiore easily from third. Barry Butera scored the fifth and final run of the inning coming home on a wild pitch from Parker.

Florida State charged right back in the bottom of the inning scoring three runs all on two outs. After loading the bases on a walk by Holt, a bloop single to center by Stidham and walk by Stuart Tapley, Posey singled through the left side plating Holt and Stidham. Designated hitter Tommy Oravetz followed with an RBI single to left plating Tapley to cut the deficit to 5-3.

In the second, BC sent 11 batters to the plate adding five more runs to take a 10-3 lead. The Eagles recorded three hits in the inning while taking advantage of three walks and two hit-by-pitches by three Seminole pitchers. Parker's night would come to an end after facing just five batters in the second, marking his shortest outing of his career.

"Parker had velocity, he just didn't have location," said Martin. "His breaking ball was thrown hard, unfortunately he left a couple up and their hitters took advantage of it. Geoff just had a bad outing tonight. You don't accomplish what he did last year without being able to make adjustments. He just needs to make adjustments."

Mark Peterson came on and gave up a pair of singles and a walk before giving way to sophomore right hander Tyler Everett. Everett recorded a pair of strikeouts getting Smith swinging to end the second.

Boston College increased its lead with a pair of runs in the third to take a 12-3 lead. The Eagles scored on RBI singles back up the middle by Belfiore and Zapenas.

Florida State took advantage of a defensive miscue by Anston in center to score its fourth run of the game. Posey stood in with two outs in the fourth and lofted a high fly ball to center. The ball went in and out of the glove of Anston allowing Stidham to score easily from second. Stidham reached base two batters earlier as he legged out an infield single to first and moved to second on a wild pitch by BC starter Pat Dean.

The Seminoles continued to cut away at the Boston College lead scoring a run in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, D'Vontrey Richardson led off the inning with a single to right center and scored two batters later on an RBI single to left center by Cardullo.

An inning later, the Seminoles cut the deficit to 12-6 on an RBI single by Posey. Stidham started the inning with a double down the right field line and scored two batters later on Posey's hit to left.

BC pushed its lead back to eight with a pair of runs in the sixth. Everett's night would come to a close after facing just one batter in the sixth. The Tallahassee, Fla., native finished the game firing a season-high 3.2 innings. He allowed three runs on four hits while striking out a career-high four batters.

Kris Castellanos and Hunter Scantling combined to pitch the final four innings. Scantling was once again impressive working a career-high 3.2 innings. He did not give up a run while allowing three hits. The Jacksonville, Fla., native stuck out a career-high four batters.

"Hunter pitched well," added Martin. "Going as long as he did throwing 37 pitches; he did a good job."
